Valley Stairway Inc. has been a trusted name in stairway and metal fabrication since 1957. Founded by Anthony DeGorge, father of Jerry DeGorge and Anthony "Tony" DeGorge Jr., the company began as a small ornamental iron and fencing business. In its early years, Valley Stairway built a reputation for quality metalwork, craftsmanship, and dependable service. After only a few years in business, the company fabricated its first stairway, marking the beginning of what would become a long and successful history in stairway manufacturing.
Since that first stairway was built, Valley Stairway has completed well over 500 multifamily projects throughout California. The company has grown from a small family-run operation into one of the most competitive large stairway fabricators in the state, while still maintaining the hands-on pride, attention to detail, and commitment to quality that it was founded on.
Around 1979, Jerry DeGorge and his brother Tony took over operations of the company. Under their leadership, Valley Stairway expanded its capabilities and became known for delivering a wide range of stair systems for multifamily and commercial projects. Jerry has led the majority of the company's projects over the decades, overseeing the fabrication and installation of straight stairways, 180-degree stairways, 90-degree stairways, and stair systems ranging from simple two-story buildings to structures over six stories tall.
In addition to stairways, Valley Stairway has provided metal stair landings, balconies, guard railings, ADA ramp railings, trash enclosures, window awnings, pergolas, fencing, ornamental ironwork, and many other custom metal fabrication services. If it falls under the scope of a C-23 license, Valley Stairway has the experience and capability to get it done.
In the late 1990s, Jerry built Valley Stairway's current fabrication shop from the ground up. Today, the facility houses one of the largest stairway fabrication shops in California. The shop is equipped with modern CNC machinery, including 20-foot press brakes and 20-foot shears, allowing Valley Stairway to fabricate many cold-formed products in-house. These investments give the company greater control over quality, scheduling, and cost, helping reduce expenses for customers while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
